1 CCCA Museum "Grand Experience Concours" at the Gilmore Car Museum

The Classic Car Club of American Museum will host the 2014 Grand Experience Concours on the Gilmore Car Museum Historic Campus the first Sunday in June.

 

The 27th Annual Event will bring the best of the best to the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, including some of the nation's most stunningly restored Classic automobiles.

 

This year's theme is Cadillac and LaSalle through 1962.

No club affiliation is required to participate in the Sunday Experience Concours.

 

General Admission Cost: $10.00

                                         Children 11 and under are FREE

The 19th Annual Vintage Motorcycle Swap Meet is the Midwest's largest and fastest growing show, featuring thousands of motorcycles. The show is open to all makes 20 years and older.

The W.K. Kellogg Biological Station seeks enthusiastic, responsible and caring teen volunteers to be Junior Counselors for Summer Science Camps at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Counselors supervise and teach 1st – 8th grade campers through engaging, hands-on activities that explore the natural world and our connection to it.

 

This mandatory training session covers everything you’ll need to know to be a successful camp counselor and leader. Teen volunteers must be 14-17 years old (entering 9th-12th grade).

23-27 Kellogg Biological Station Presents: Leadership Camp-Green Energy Stars! at Kellogg Bird Sanctuary

The flow of energy guides a week of conservation education when campers learn about sustainability while participating in leadership and communication-building activities. We’ll perform experiments, visit with scientists and learn about the plants grown for biofuel research at KBS’s Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) site.Campers do their part for the planet by calculating the camp’s energy usage and finding ways to stop waste and conserve energy.The week concludes with an overnight campout when kids build a campfire, set up tents, cook meals, and enjoy some leisurely fishing and canoeing.

 

Kara Haas, the Sanctuary’s Environmental Education Coordinator, joins Michigan State University Extension Educators Darren Bagley and Jan Brinn tolead the camp.

 

Camp is open to students entering 7th and 8th grades.

Cost is $280/person.

Spectator gates open at 9:00 a.m. for all shows. 

 

The Gilmore Museum’s 90-acre grounds are covered with vintage tractors for the ever-popular 35th Annual Antique Tractor, Engine and Machinery Show, sponsored by the Kalamazoo Antique Tractor, Engine and Machinery Club, featuring BF Avery & Graham Bradley Tractors, Gas Engines and Trucks pre-1989. The three-day show features a Saw Mill team with demonstrations, steam engines, daily tractor parade at 1pm, kid’s pedal tractor pulls, and an antiques & crafts market.

The Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is designed for male and female players of all ages, sizes and abilities.

 

Teams are computer-matched into competitive divisions according to the age, height and playing experience of all four players on the team roster. 

Sign up your team and bring your family and friends to Gus Macker - a weekend family festival that celebrates the half-court, pick-up basketball game.

 

Team entry is $136 along with an $8 processing fee.
