Valerie serves as the President of both the Barry County Chamber of Commerce and the Barry County Economic Development Alliance providing overall visionary leadership to both organizations. In this capacity she delivers direct business and community support services throughout Barry County. In addition to organizational oversight, Valerie serves as a SCORE Counselor providing business counseling to entrepreneurs and small business owners and works with local companies and communities to develop incentive assistance to expand current operations, accommodate new business development and further enhance communities wishing to attract new business and a high quality workforce. Valerie began her economic development career in 1994 and has a Bachelors Degree from Davenport University

Lynn Hatfield

Lynn Hatfield joined the Barry County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Alliance staff in 2004 as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper. In addition to providing financial and administrative support for the Chamber and Alliance, she also serves as the primary contact for community inquiries and festival information. Lynn serves on many of the Chamber’s community event planning committees as well as on the Hastings Education Enrichment Foundation. She is a graduate from the University of Michigan with a major in Economics and emphasis on Business Administration. Lynn resides in Hastings with her fiancée Dusty, Bernese Mountain Dog “Molly,” and three horses. In her free time, Lynn is an avid equestrian, exhibitor and show clothing designer. |

As the Program and Membership Development Manger Andre creates programs, workshops and communication tools that give value to Chamber of Commerce memberships. Business After Hour Events, the Barry County Business Expo and Small Business Workshops are all events he is currently organizing. He seeks to develop unique events that will bring as many people as possible to Chamber events. Ultimately he is working to help businesses connect to the customers and partners they need for their business to succeed. In addition, Wiegand serves on several committees that address local entrepreneurship, community events and tourist attraction.
Wiegand earned his degrees in Political Economy (M.S.U. B.A.-99”) and Public Policy (University of Minnesota- 01”). He lives in Hastings, MI with his wife Joy and son Lance. When he’s not reading biographies, books on global economics or self improvement, Wiegand finds time to travel, practice art, exercise and volunteer.
